The Pyramids "The pharaohs of the Fourth dynasty were the creators of the pyramids. The Great Pyramid was the largest pyramid, built for the pharaoh Khufu. It was built in the city of Giza. It is made of two million stones, each weighing five thousand pounds. Pyramids took as long as 20 years to build, starting when the pharaoh was crowned. The sides of the pyramids faced cardinal directions. Workers used each other for help in building a pyramid. They had worker sites for the pyramid builders so they would have enough energy they needed to build the pyramids. Many people died trying to build the pyramids."
